The North Central Hurling Club has resumed operation. In hurling, capturing players when they're young and developing them is critical to the development of a local GAA.
Here are some videos from a recent NC practice.

Run like hell
Banisteor told us we were going to concentrate on our fitness this year... and on his first practice he showed us.
Running wind sprints (with pushups tacked on), sprinting across the field, running out the ball on one-on-one drills... phew...
Despite frigid weather (wind chills were in the 20s) and a muddy field, we still had about 18 guys come out to practice... Great to see so many coming out on a regular basis.
Practice on Sunday was cancelled for Easter, but Banisteor is setting up an impromptu practice on Saturday at 4pm at Broad Ripple Park. If you've got nothing to do and want to hit the ball around, come on out.

Pics from April 1st
In full swing
Sunday marked the official start of the 2007 season for Indy Hurling.
About 25 guys made it out to Richardt Park for the first official practice. Field conditions were atrocious and after hitting the ball around for a few minutes the decision was made to move to Lawrence Park.
After arriving at Lawrence Park, Ciaran led us through various drills for handpassing and defending. 4 new players also joined us for the first time. Ciaran led Chappy, Eric, Jason and one other (I'm sorry I never got your name!) through the basics of how to lift the ball and other beginner drills.
Finally we all came together for a scrimmage. The guys played hard and even one of the new guys scored a point. A couple of hurleys were broken, but fun was had by all.
I got some nice pictures and I'll get them posted as soon as I can.
